Obituary

Mrs. John Mammen

Mrs. John Mammen, 64, route 3, LeMars, died Saturday (Sept. 9, 1972) at Sioux City St. Vincent hospital after a three month illness. She had been hospitalized six weeks.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, rural LeMars, with Rev. Robert Reitz officiating.

Burial will be in Christ Lutheran church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

The former Lena Catherine Ludwigs, she was born March 15, 1908, in Washington township, the daughter of Henry and Engel (Kleihauer) Ludwigs.

She and John Mammen were married Nov. 12, 1936, at Christ Lutheran church.

Mrs. Mammen was a housewife and lifelong resident of Plymouth county.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Mammen was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Survivors are her husband John of LeMars; two sons, Maynard of Sioux City and Howard of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Burleigh, of North Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Norman (LeJoyce) Jerde of Sioux City; four brothers, George, Jack, WIlliam and Elmer Ludwigs, all of LeMars; three sisters, Elizabeth Haage, Mary Ruble and Ella Molzen, all of LeMars, and three grandchildren
