Minnie Kruse, 93, of rural Brunsville, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Minnie Trientje Siebens was born Oct. 17, 1910, the daughter of Claus and Mary (Plueger) Siebens on a farm in Washington Township, Plymouth County. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church (Grant Township) by the Rev. J.D. Meyer. She attended rural school as well as parochial school at Christ Lutheran Church under the instruction of Henry Hennings. Following her education, she assisted her family with farming.

On Feb. 10, 1935, Herman Kruse and Minnie Trientje Siebens were united in marriage at her parents' farm home by the Rev. Franz Otto Bunge. The couple had met at a Luther League meeting. They made their home on a farm near Brunsville for three years before moving to their farm in Grant Township. Herman and Minnie lived on their farm until moving to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Herman died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital on Friday, April 12, 2002.

Minnie was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, rural Le Mars, and assisted with Ladies Aid, Mission Festival and other dinners and church activities when she was able. Minnie was always cooking and caring for others and was an excellent seamstress.

Minnie will be lovingly remembered by a nephew very special to her, Dale Hennings and his daughter, Anna Minnie Rose Hennings, of Le Mars; and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herman, sisters Anna Hennings, Rose Ludwigs and Frances Ludwigs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Le Mars. The Rev. Daniel Stegen and the Rev. Peter Boe will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. and there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral.

Pallbearers will be Terry Ludwigs, Barry Ludwigs, Wilbur Renken, Melvin Plueger, Ronald Ludwigs and Dale Hennings Jr.
