HENRY T. MEYER

Henry T. Meyer, 83, of LeMars, retired Washington Township farmer, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died Saturday (May 24, 1986) at Floyd Valley hospital in LeMars.

Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston Township, rural Akron with Rev. Robert Kruempel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called after 2 p.m. Monday at the Mauer-Johnson in LeMars. The family was present from 7-8 p.m.

Mr. Meyer was born July 17, 1902, in PrestonTownship to Rev. Theodore and Marie Gehrecke Meyer. He farmed in Washington Township 47 years before retiring into LeMars in 1978. He married Clara Kruse on Sept. 14, 1930, at her parents home in Washington Township.

Mr. Meyer was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and the church brotherhood.

Survivors are his wife; one sister, Mrs. Marie Kruse, of LeMars, and one brother, Rev. John Meyer of Waverly and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Karl, Paul and William, and a sister, Martha.
