Terry Kloster, 59, of Remsen, died Friday July 9, 1999, at his residence in Remsen, following a lengthy illness.
Terry was born July 25, 1939, at Oyens, the son of Niels and Elzina Louise (Albrecht) Kloster. He grew up in Oyens, graduated from Remsen High School, and attended Westmar College in Le Mars and Dana College in Blair, Neb. On April 22, 1960, he married Patricia Kuhr at Blair, Neb. They had four children together. On March 10, 1985, he married Donna Poehling in Remsen. Donna died in 1995. On July 7, 1996, he married Marcia Goettsch at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars.
For the last 20 years, Mr. Kloster was the district sales manager for Hoegemeyer Hybrids, a hybrid seed company with its home office in Hooper, Neb.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards. He also enjoyed singing at church and in the past had been a member of various men’s singing groups.
Survivors include his wife Marcia of Remsen; his four children, Jeff Kloster and his wife, Deborah, of Omaha, Neb., Tara Schnack and her husband, Craig, of Coon Rapids, Minn., Anna La Brie and her fiancé, Tim Silknitter, of Gretna, Neb., and Neal Kloster and his wife, Traela, of Deerfield, Ill; six grandchildren; three brothers: Vernon, Vaugn and Darwin Kloster; three sisters: Ellen Bohlken, Kathy Palm and Darlene Yovonie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter Kloe Kloster.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA in Le Mars with Rev. Gary P. Landsness officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Pat Loutsch, Tim Loutsch, Don Loutsch, Ken Loutsch, Dale Fledderman and Rich Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be six members of the Remsen Lions Club: Dennis Schorg, Chris Feller, Clayton Harnack, Gene Loutsch, John Cook and Tom Letsche. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, July 12, 1999, page 5.
