Young Girl is Claimed by Death. Shirley Mae Kunath Was Invalid Nearly All of Her Life.
Death Wednesday claimed Shirley May Kunath, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kunath, residing in Fredonia township northwest of Remsen, who passed away at the family home at the age of 16 years.
The young lady, an invalid nearly all her life, was born on a farm near Le Mars, daughter of Frank and Annie Kunath, the mother being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tovel Kloster, now of Oyens.
When the Klosters moved to Oyens several weeks ago the Kunath family succeeded them on the Kloster farm in Fredonia. The Kunaths have one other daughter. In their bereavement they have the sincere sympathy of many friends here and in the Le Mars vicinity.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, in the home at 1 o’clock, followed by services in the Danish Lutheran church nearby, and burial in the Lutheran cemetery there. Services were conducted by the Rev. F Jacobsen of Marcus. – source unknown

Daughter of Frank Kunath Stricken
Shirley Mae Kunath, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kunath, died Wednesday at her home near Oyens.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister, Ruth, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Kloster.
The funeral will be held from the home at 1 o’clock Saturday and services held in the Danish Lutheran church in Fredonia township.
The Kunath family recently moved from a farm in America township to the Thorvald Kloster farm in Fredonia township. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Feb. 28, 1941, page 8.
