Funeral services for John H. Eilers of Long Beach, California, formerly of LeMars will be hel d at 2 pm Wednesday, at St John's American Lutheran church, Le Mars, Iowa, Rev. LL Belk wil l Officiate. Burial will be in St John's Lutheran cemetery, Craig, Iowa under the direction o f Luken's funeral Home.

John Henry Eilers, son of Fred and Mary Eilers, was born on January 17, 1882, at Harvel, Illi nois. Mr. Eilers came to Plymouth county when a young man. On January 16, 1907 he married Emma Schuldt at Ireton and after his marriage farmed near Craig for 6 years. In 1913 he entered business in Craig, until 1936 when he moved to Le mars where he entered in insurance business . For a number of years he was director of the German Mutual Insurance Co. In 1954, th e Eilers moved to Long Beach, California.

Deceased suffered a stroke three weeks ago here in Le Mars and passed away on Sunday noon a t Sacred Heart Hospital. He was 74 years of age.

Survivors include his beloved wife: one daughter Mrs. Howard(Myrna) Collins of Long Beach, California; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Marie) Baack of LeMars and 3 brothers, Gerd Eilers of Hawarden, Ed Eilers of Le mars and Fred Eilers of Wilmar, Minnesota. Four grandchildren also survived.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
