Bill Bristow

William (Billy) Bristow, 86, Worthington, Minn., formerly of Red Lake Falls,
Minn., died Friday morning (May 19, 1972) at a Worthington nursing home
after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were Monday at 10 a.m. at the Benson funeral home at
Worthington with Dr. O.W. Brand of the First Methodist church of Worthington
officiating.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the LeMars city cemetery
under the direction of the Benson funeral home.

Mr. Bristow was born May 2, 1886, near Adaville, in Plymouth county, a son
of the late Henry W. and Sarah Treeby Bristow. He married Margaret Thoms in
1911 at rural LeMars. The couple settled on a farm near Adaville after
their marriage and resided there until 1917 when they moved to a farm at Red
Lake Falls, Minn.

Mrs. Bristow died in 1965. After her death, Mr. Bristow lived in LeMars for
a short time and then went to the nursing home later that year.

The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1961 at the Thoms
farm near LeMars where Mrs. Bristow was born and the couple was married.

Mr. Bristow was preceded in death by his wife, parents and three brothers.
Survivors area a brother, Clarence of Sioux City and four sisters, Mrs. Joe
(Laura) Anderson of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Ralph (Clara) Stinton of Santa
Monica, Calif., Mrs. Ted (Blanche) Larsen of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs.
Earl (Grace) Schindel of Sioux City and six brother-in-laws, Homer Thoms of
Merrill and Maynard, Elmer, James and Harry Thoms, all of LeMars, and
Wallace of Fargo, N.D.
