REMSEN PIONEER DIES. Henry Koch Resided in Plymouth County Many Years.
Henry Koch, Sr., for many years a resident of Remsen, died Thursday night in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Martens, Bridgewater, S.D., after a comparatively brief illness. He had attained the age of 82 years.
Mr. Koch came to Remsen with his family more than 30 years ago. He is survived by three sons, Henry and Fred Koch, of Remsen, Iowa, and William Koch, of Ogilvie, Minn., and two daughters, Mrs. Martens and Mrs. Frank Rolf, of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Passes Away at Age of 82 in Daughter's Home, Bridgewater, S. D.

Henry Koch, Sr., for many years a resident of Remsen, died Thursday night in the home of his daughter Mrs. Henry Martens, Bridgewater, S. D. after a comparatively brief illness. He had attained the age of 82 years . Mr. Koch came to Remsen with his family more than 30 years ago. His wife died about a year ago. He is survived by three sons, Henry and Fred Koch of Remsen, Ia and William Koch of Ogilvie, Minn. and two daughters, Mrs. Martens and Mrs. Frank Reif of Eagle Grove, Ia. The body was brought to Remsen for burial.

Celebrate Golden Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koch Settled in Remsen in 1887

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koch, Sr. two of the oldest residents of Plymouth county celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, Sunday, with a family gathering at their home in Remsen, Mr. and Mrs. Koch, are both natives of Holstein, Germany, where they lived nineteen years after their marriage, before coming to the United States. They came directly to Remsen in 1887, farming south of there for a number of years and moving to town fifteen years ago. Mr. Koch is 79 years old and his wife is 74. Both are in excellent health. Their children, all of whom were with them Sunday are: Henry and Fred Koch, Remsen; Mrs. Henry Martens, Bridgewater, S.D., Will Koch, Ogilvie, Min., and Mrs. Frank Rief, of Eagle Grove, Iowa.
