Of Rural Akron Dies At Age 53 Walter Nannen
Walter Nannen, 53, of rural Akron, brother of Harry Nannen of Ireton, died Sunday at his farm home after suffering a heart attack. Funeral-services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church in Preston township with Rev. James Sandvick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Nannen was born April 8, 1913, at Akron. He married Lydia Galtermann September 15, 1940, at York Center, Illinois. He was a member of St John Evangelical Lutheran church.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters,Marilyn and Melinda Nannen, both at home; a brother, Harry Nannen of Ireton, and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Beeck, Mrs. Johanna Andresen and Mrs. Katherine Hillrichs, all of Le Mars.

Rites Are Held Last Thursday For Walter Nannen
Walter Nannen, well-known and respected farmer, passed away at his farm home northeast of town, on Sunday, October 31, after a brief illness of a heart attack, aged 53 years.
Mr. Nannen was born April 8, 1913, at Akron and grew to manhood here, marrying Lydia Galterman September 15, 1949, at York Center, Ill., and they began homemaking here. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township. The many friends he possessed regret his untimely departure and all extend sympathy to the surviving relatives.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Marily and Melinda Nannen, both at home; a brother, Harry Nannen of Ireton, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Beeck, Mrs. Johanna Andersen and Mrs. Katherine Hillrichs, all of Le Mars.
