Akron Register-Tribune: Mrs. Charles Hoffman, of Sioux City, a former resident of Akron, died late
Thursday, June 26, 1947, while visiting in the home of a daughter. Miss Ruth Hoffman, in Omaha, Neb.
The immediate cause of her death was a cerebral hemorrhage. Her age was 62 years, 3 months and 10 days. Mae Irene McKillipps was born at Civil Bend, Iowa, March 16, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. McKillipps, who lived in Akron for a number of years. On December 27, 1904, she was united in marriage with Charles Hoffman, of Akron.
They spent the early part of their married life in or near Akron, moving to Sioux City about the year 1925 To this union twelve children were born, eleven of whom remain to mourn the loss of their mother.
The first child, a son, passed away in infancy. Of those surviving, thereare five daughters, Evelyn and Ruthnof Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Vivian Naughton, of Sioux City; Mrs. Iris Bateman, of Gordon, Neb., and Mrs. Margaret Wicksell, of Sloan, Iowa; six sons, John, Claude and Robert, of Omaha; Carl and Vincent, of Sioux City, and Ernest, of Miami, Fla.; also by her husband and sixteen grandchildren.
