Ruby Violet Frahm, 88, of Akron, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2000 at the Akron Care Center.
Services were held Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at Wesley Methodist Church with the Rev. Marion Sindt officiating. Carol Harris was organist.
Pallbearers were Wendell and Dennis Powell, Larry Clarey, Mark Miller, William Joseph, and Darrell Wilson.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later day. Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frahm was born November 5, 1911 in Flandreau, South Dakota to George and Nancy (Allen) Pike. Mrs. Frahm moved to LeMars at the age of one, then to Akron at the age of eight where she lived the rest of her life. She attended Akron schools.
She married Ivan Frahm July 5,1930 in Cherokee, Iowa. He passed away May 29, 1967. She was employed by the Akron School system as a cook for 13 years until her retirement in 1979.
Mrs. Frahm was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Embroidery Club and Women's Society.
Survivors include a sister, Iva Powell, of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bud Pike; two half brothers Clifford and William Pike; an infant daughter, Valda Irene Frahm; two sisters, Helen Joseph and Mabel McCorkell.
