Wilfred Dirks, 75, of Westminster, California, long time Akron resident, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 13, 2000 after Having minor hip surgery the prior week.

Memorial services were held at Kensington Mobile Estates on Saturday, June 17.

Mr. Dirks was born October 29, 1924 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Henry and Minnie Dirks. He had six brothers and two sisters. He moved to Akron in 1947 and married Dorothy Pelroy March 1948. He was employed by Dirks Motor Company from 1947 to 1980. They moved to California in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Erlzie Brown, Tustin, California and Jackene Farley, Rancho Santa Margarita, California; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one brother, Martin Dirks of Sioux City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
