AKRON RESIDENT DIES IN HOSPITAL AT SIOUX CITY

August Carlsen, a resident of Akron and vicinity for a number of years, passed away Monday, November 27, 1939, in the Lutheran Hospital, Sioux City, of kidney trouble and complications, following a recant operation for. appendicitis, aged 65 years and 25 days.

Mr. Carlsen was born in Tranemo, Elfsborg Lane, Sweden, November 2, 1874, where he grew to manhood and was married his wife died in 1911 and he came to the United States about two years later. Mr. Carlsen recently worked for Fred Claesson, east of town, and previous to that was employed as mechanic in the Moir garage here. He was industrious and dependable.

Surviving him are a son, Eric, in St. Paul, Minn., and a son and daughter in Sweden.

The body was brought to the Ross Funeral Home here, where funeral services were held in the chapel at 2 p. m., Wednesday, conducted by Rev. E. G. Svenson, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of which church deceased was a member. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
