August Otto Herman Huebner, son of Wilhelm F. and Sophia Koch Huebner, was born in Germany on February 8,1882, and died October 23,1941, at the State hospital at Cherokee, Iowa. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church before his parents came to America. As a young boy, he was instructed in the Lutheran catechism and was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran church here by the pastor, Rev. F. A. Meske. Later in life his parents moved to Le Mars and while living there he joined the German Evangelical church. He learned the painting and paperhanging trade and followed that until he became ill and had to be taken to the Cherokee hospital.
Mr. Huebner's parents and two sisters preceded him in death. Two brothers and their families survive him. The brothers are Wm. F. Huebner, of Akron, and Fred Huebner, of Holland, Minn.
The funeral services were held in Akron, Saturday afternoon, October 26, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. A. Howe, the pastor. Rev. Howe and Harry B. Nelson each sang a solo as part of the service, with accompaniment by Mrs. Lois Nelson. Six cousins of the deceased acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the Le Mars cemetery, beside his parents.
