Kathrina Schoen, 99, Merrill, a longtime Plymouth county resident, died Monday (Oct. 15, 1990) at the Abbey in Le Mars after a 7-month illness.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

The former Kathrina Heien was born Sept. 15, 1891, in Germany to Richard and Anken Oltmann Heien. She married Henry Schoen Dec. 26, 1912, in Craig. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Merrill.

Surviving are two sons, Marvin Schoen and his wife, Juanita of Merrill, and Donald Schoen of California; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Alice) May of Le Mars; twelve grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by ner parents; her husband, Henry, who died March 11,1954; two sisters, two brothers and nine grandchildren
