John Henry Reed, 68, a retired Elk Point mason, died Thursday at his home after suffering; a heart attack.

Mr. Reed was born November 25, 1889, in Wisconsin and lived in the Elk Point and Westfield vicinities since coming to the area with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reed, in 1896. He married Mary Meeks August 29, 1939, in Sioux City. A veteran of World War 1, he served with the army in France about one year.

Survivors are the widow; a daughter Alberta, and a son, Dennis, both at home, and a brother, Frank of Sioux City.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p. m., in Elk Point, Rev. Albert Walker, of the Congregational Church, officiating1. Burial was in Akron Riverside cemetery, with V.F.W. military rites at the graveside.
