Louis G. Borchers

Louis G. Borchers, 82, rural Ireton, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1992, at a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig, with Rev. Beth Graham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mr. Borchers was born Feb. 8, 1910, in Preston township, Plymouth county, Iowa, rural Ireton. the son of Ben C. and Minnie (Siebens) Borchers. He married Beatrice Eilts, March 14, 1931, at Sioux City. He farmed in Plymouth county all his life, retiring in 1976. He was also an agent for the German Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. He was a member of the board of directors of the Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Craig and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; a son and his wife, Lloyd and Lorraine of Le Mars; a daughter and her husband, Maurine and John Laux of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Inez Borchers of rural Ireton; eight grandchildren, David, Russell and Gina Borchers, Deb Juffer, Laurie Hartgraves, Elizabeth Wilson, Tina Hanson, and Jason Laux; nine great-grandchildren, Chris, Cara, Heather, Holly, Sarah, Rachel, David, Zachary and Lindsay.

He was preceded in death by a son, Myron in 1991; two brothers, Eilert and William H. Borchers, and two sisters, Ann Moeller and Helen Struckenbruck.

LOUIS G. BORCHERS

Louis G. Borchers, 2, of rural Ireton died Saturday, September 26, at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Beth Graham officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
