Ida Louise Goergen, 79, of Granville, an Akron native, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1992 at the Orange City hospital.

A memorial service was held Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. Services were held Friday at St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, rural Akron. Rev. Stephany Sanborn and Rev. Lowell Koch officiated. Hymns sung by the congregation were "Rock of Ages", Abide With Me", "Heaven Is My Home", accompanied by organist, Loretta Van Buskirk. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran church cemetery, rural Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Pallbearers were Robert Frerichs, Ronald Beeck, Leon Gabel, Jack Borchers, Gerald Frerichs, and Jim Albert.

Mrs. Goergen was born July 27, 1912, in Akron, daughter of Chris and Meta (Mangelson) Beeck. She was raised in the Akron area and then moved to Hawarden, where she worked for Otis Radio until her marriage to Paul Goergen. She married William Koch, June 22, 1932, at rural Akron. The couple farmed in the Akron area until his death March 8, 1964. She married Paul Goergen July 27, 1968 in Granville. They made their home in Granville. She had a hobby of collecting owls.

Survivors include her husband, Paul of Granville; two sons, Stan Koch and his wife, Joan of Rochester, Minn., and Leonard and his wife, Karen of South Sioux City, Neb.; a brother, Paul Beeck of Le Mars; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Elsie) Frerichs and Mrs. Edwin (Ella) Frerichs, both of Akron; a step-son, Dale Goergen of. Apple Valley, Minn.; four step-daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Sheryl) Feller of Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Richard (Karen) Glennie of Blue Earth, Minn., Mrs. Gordon (Lynn) Pottebaum of Alton, and Mrs. Dan (Lois) Paulsen of Granville; 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William in infancy; two brothers, Chris and Edward; and two sisters, Lily Albert and Rose Feauto.
