Lisa Renae Oetken, 18, of
Akron, died Friday, September
27, 2002 as a result of
an automobile accident in
rural Hamilton County,
Iowa.

Funeral services were
Tuesday, October 1 at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Akron
with.Rev. Sonja Brucklacher
officiating. Burial was in
Riverside Cemetery in Akron.

Pallbearers were all of
Lisa's cousins. Honorary
pallbearers were Travis,
Ryan and Michael Oetken
and Derek and Jennifer
Johnson and her many loving
friends.

Lisa was born May 8,
1984, in Sioux City to Roger
and Rhonda (Schroeder)
Oetken. Lisa attended elementary
school in Akron and graduated from Akron-
Westfield High School in May
of 2002. She was currently attending
the University of
Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Lisa was baptized and confirmed
at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Akron. She had a
strong faith in God and served
as a Sunday School teacher,
bible school teacher, worked in
the nursery and was involved
in L.Y.O.

Lisa was very involved in
the Akron-Westfield High
School. Her activities included
show choir, Dance Express,
FFA, Girl's State, volleyball,
flags, band, chorus, softball,
basketball, National Honor
Society and as track and basketball
manager.

She was an 8-year 4-H
member and had worked at
Dean's Dugout and the Akron
Golf Club.

Lisa had an outgoing, loving
personality and will be
deeply missed by all those
who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her parents,
Rhonda and Lynn
Johnson, Akron and Roger
Oetken, Akron and his special
friend Dani Grimsley,
Sioux City; brothers and sisters,
Travis, Ryan and
Michael Oetken, and Derek
and Jennifer Johnson, all of
Akron; grandparents, Ron
and Karen Schroeder, Earl
and Darlene Oetken and
Darwin and Darlene
Johnson, all of Akron; special
friend Josh Hauser, Akron;
and many aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends.

She was preceded in
death by her sister Rachel in
infancy.
