MRS. ELIZABETH WALSH DIES AT SIOUX CITY AT AGE OF 71
A stroke of paralysis Friday morning caused the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Walsh, 2209 Lafayette street, Sioux City, a resident of Plymouth county and vicinity for 58 years. She was 71 years old.
Coming to Sioux City in 1865 by stage coach, Mrs. Walsh had resided there and in Plymouth county ever since. For 46 years she resided on a farm near Le Mars.
Born in Styles county, Mo., May 14, 1851, Mrs. Walsh then Elizabeth Hagle, moved when five years of age with her parents to Pleasantville, Iowa. Nine years later the family came to Sioux City.
Married on June 5, 1868, to John Burnett, the young couple took a honeymoon by walking 10 miles up the Perry creek road to the groom's homestead in Perry township, Plymouth County. To them were born nine children, two of whom died in infancy and one in young manhood.
Being left a widow in November 1896, she married John Pritchett In 1897. In 1914 they moved to Le Mars.. Again a widow she was married Jan. 1, 1917, to Alva Walsh, who survives.
In addition to the husband, three daughters, two sons, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four step children and their seven descendants survive. The children are: Mrs. Ida Wenham, Mrs. Bertha Stinton, and Mrs. G. A. Robinson of Sioux City; Mrs. H. A. Woods of Merrill, Iowa; Durward Burnett of Omaha, Neb., and Herbert Burnett of Hinton, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at Trimble Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made at the Adaville cemetery.
