Services Tuesday for longtime resident

Clarinda (Ryn) Freking, 83, of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Davenport.

Mrs. Freking was born Sept. 9, 1909, at Alton to Joseph and Mary (Coppert) Brunsman. She attended St. Mary's Academy. She married Linus (Doc) Freking on Nov. 8, 1937, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alton. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Mrs. Freking had been employed as a sales clerk for VanderMeer Bakery, Clara Owen's Dress Shop, Tots and Teens, and Reuter Floor Co. Mr. Freking died Nov. 27,1988. Shortly after his death, Mrs. Freking moved to Bettendorf to be near her son.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the church Guild and the Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Mike and Marilyn Freking of Bettendorf; three grandchildren, Ken and Kevin Freking, both of Bettendorf, and Katherine Ann Freking of Raleigh, N.C.; and a brother, Vernon Brunsman of Portland, Ore.

She also was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars with Rev. Dale George officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Monday) with a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., all at the
