Funeral service for Lester Dewey, 74, Westfield farmer, were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wesley Methodist church at Akron.

Rev. Donald Robert officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Akron.

Mr. Dewey died Thursday night at an Akron hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1892, at Washta. He married Amelia Thiel Feb. 17, 1916, in Akron. The couple farmed for a while at Parker, S.D., before moving to Westfield where he farmed the last 35 years.

Survivors are his wife, five sons, Harvey of Akron, Gene of Sioux City, Mahlon of Priest River, Idaho, Duane and Harlan of Westfield; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Schnee of Sioux City; two brothers , Rue of Bothell, Wash., and Richard of Rawlings, Wyo.; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Pingren of Hurley, S.D., Mrs. Laura Anderson of Irene, S.D., and Mrs. Mae Stokes of Battle Creek, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
