LeRoy Manning, 92, longtime Le
Mars resident, died Thursday (Jan. 25,
1979) at Plymouth Manor care center in
Le Mars after an illness of several
weeks. He had lived at the care center
the last three months.

Mr. Manning was born Dec. 7, 1886, in
Union township, Plymouth county to
John and Olivia Manning. He farmed in
Union township and moved to Oyens in
1929.

In 1946 he moved to Le Mars and
worked for Plymouth county as a
maintainer operator until his
retirement in 1960.

Mr. Manning and Agnes Geary were
married June 21, 1921, in Le Mars. She
preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his
parents, and four brothers, Edward,
John, Harry and Raymond.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at St. James Catholic Church
with Rev. Thomas Geelan officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in
Le Mars, under direction of the Luedtke
funeral home in Le Mars. Friends may
call at the funeral home after 3 p.m.
Friday.

The parish rosary will be recited at 7
p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A son, Charles Manning, Le Mars,
survives, as do several nieces and
nephews.
