Bruce Davis
Bruce Douglas Davis, 32, Akron, died
Friday (Sept. 9, 1988) at the Casa De
Paz nursing home in Sioux City following
a long illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday
at the Schroeder funeral home in
Akron. The Rev. Duane Shay, interim
pastor at Trinity and St. John's Lutheran
churches, Akron, officiated. Burial
was in Riverside cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Denton, Steve
Horton, Richard Johnson, Jeff Banks,
Steve Davis, and Butch Buys.
Mr. Davis was born Oct. 9, 1955 to
Clarence Davis and Shirley Fueston in
Vermillion, S.D. He worked for Higman
Sand and Gravel of Akron and Iowa
Beef Processors, South Sioux City, prior
to becoming ill and entering the Casa
De Paz nursing home in Sioux City.
Survivors include two daughters,
Misty and Charity Davis, both of Jefferson,
S.D.; his father, Clarence of Akron;
his mother, Shirley of Charleston, S.C.;
a sister, Susan McDowell of Charleston,
S.C.; four brothers, Larry of St. Mary's,
Ga., Steve of Sergeant Bluff, Ronnie of
Sioux City, and Dennis of Phoenix,
Ariz.; his paternal grandmother, Lillian
Davis of Vermillion and his maternal
grandmother, Lorraine Fueston of Vermillion
