Mrs. Louis J. Meyer, 79, of Akron died Dec. 15 in an Akron nursing home after a long illness.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17 in Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Roy officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with the Schroeder Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Meyer, the former Anna Meta Haage, was born July 18,1897 in rural Plymouth County. She was married Feb. 26, 1923 at Akron. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer farmed in the Akron area until retiring to Akron in 1959. Mr. Meyer died in 1961.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Boomgaarden of Hawarden, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Tentinger of Chatsworth, and Mrs. Jim (Alma) Knecht of Akron; a son, Lloyd of Akron; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerd of Le Mars; three sisters, Mrs. Flora Cassens of Akron, Mrs. Tina Lubben and Mrs. Hanna Borchers, both of Le Mars.
