Resident Of Area Succumbs

Funeral services for Louis J. Meyer of Akron, 67, father of Mrs. Dorothy Boomgaard of Hawarden, who died Friday at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, were held Monday at 9 o'clock at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. David Roy officiated with burial in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Meyer was born June 30, 1894, at Ohlman, Illinois. He married Anna Haage in Plymouth county February 26, 1924, and farmed until his retirement. He served with the Rainbow division in France during World War I.

Survivors include a son, Lloyd, of Akron; three daughters, Mrs. Alma Knecht of Akron, Mrs. Dorothy Boomgaard of Hawarden, and Mrs. Helen Tentinger of Chatsworth; a brother, Edward Meyer, of Tuthill, S. D., and 11 grandchildren.
