Services Friday for Bob Zenk of Jimbo's Bait & Tackle

Robert A. "Bob" Zenk, 67, of Le Mars, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996, at Floyd Valley Hospital after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at Jimbo's Bait and Tackle in Le Mars.

Mr. Zenk was born June 12, 1928, at Merrill, the son of Arnold and Anna Elisa (Buethner) Zenk. He moved with his family to Lane, S.D., in 1929 and to Hull in 1936, where he graduated from high school. In 1946 he moved to Le Mars and later lived in Brunsville for a few years before moving back to Le Mars. He married Elsie Heien April 14, 1962, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He worked in the radio repair, nursery, and plumbing businesses for several years. Since 1980 he had operated Jimbo's Bait and Tackle in Le Mars.

Survivors include two sisters, Elma Jewett of Indian Hills Care Center, Sioux City, and Dorothea and her husband, Bernard DeBoer of Le Mars; three brothers and their wives, William and Mildred Zenk of Boyden, Arnold and Lenyce Zenk of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Eugene and Shirley Zenk of Denison; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie, and a brother, Franz Zenk, in infancy.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery, Brunsville. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will also continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.
