Rosemarie (Rosemary) Staab, 92, of Remsen, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.

Rosemarie was born Jan. 12, 1918, on a farm near Oyens, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Delperdang) Majeres. She grew up near Oyens and attended grade school in Oyens as well. After grade school, she attended St. Mary's High School and graduated in 1935.

On Sept. 17, 1945, she married Ralph Staab at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens. Throughout her life, Rosemarie was a housewife who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards-especially with her family. Ralph died April 12, 1991.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Christian Women's Guild, past member of The Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include: one son, Carl Staab and his wife Pat (Ruden) of Remsen; one daughter, Pam Hutchins and her husband John of Le Mars; her grandchildren, Curt Staab and his wife Lyndee of Clinton, Mo., Brian Staab and his wife Bethany of Sergeant Bluff, Dave Staab and his special friend Christina Snedeker of Denver, Colo., Emily Hutchins of Moorhead, Minn.; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Eric, Ethan, Brandon and Brogan Staab; four sisters-in-law, Elaine Staab, Marion Staab both of Remsen, Olga Stoffel of Woodville, Wis., and Thelma Brown Gunnison, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cyril Majeres and his wife Rose Ann; one sister, Rita Ritz and her husband John; four brothers-in-law, Rich and Milo Staab, Bill Stoffel, John Brown; two nephews, Mark Staab and Matthew Brown; one niece, Jane Staab.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. today (Friday). There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Casketbearers will be, Curt, Brian, Dave, Haley and Brandon Staab and Emily Hutchins.
