Warren A. Bock, 86, of Le Mars, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at The Abbey of Le Mars.
Warren Arthur Bock was born Nov. 18, 1923, at Le Mars, the son of Paul and Lillian (Krusemark) Bock. Warren was baptized into the Methodist faith. He attended school in Le Mars. He worked on the family dairy farm for many years.
Warren was united in marriage to Margaret Johnsen on July 1, 1954, at Deloit.
He later accepted a position with the maintenance department at Westmar College and worked with the college until his retirement. Margaret died March 1, 1996.
Warren enjoyed bowling league, traveling, fishing and woodworking.
He was a longtime member of United Methodist Church of Le Mars and had served as head usher at the Le Mars Methodist Church for several years. He also enjoyed singing in the choir.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Alvin Heeren of Le Mars and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lillian (Krusemark) Bock; his wife, Margaret; a sister, Mae Reeves; and two brothers, Lloyd and Lawrence Bock.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars with the Rev. Jason Larson officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, rural Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue at the church from 1 p.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Michael Carroll, Don Butcher, Ted Rebstock, Wayne Marty, Wayne Heien, and Julian Hart.
