EVERETT ORR FUNERAL WEDNESDAY AT MERRILL CHURCH

Everette E. Orr, 88, of Merrill and longtime Liberty township farmer, died Monday (June 24, 1985) at Floyd Valley in LeMars after a short illness. He was hospitalized eight days.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Adaville United Methodist church with Rev. Donald Bardole officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home. A 7 p.m. prayer service will be held Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Lundeen officiating.

Mr. Orr was born April 5, 1897, in Cherokee County to Edward and Frances Pendleton Orr. He married Mary Elizabeth Hines Feb. 14, 1917, at Hinton. The couple farmed many years in Liberty township, retiring to Merrill in 1970. Mrs. Orr died in 1980.

He was a member of the Adaville United Methodist church since 1917; a member of the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Association for many years; a director of the Hinton Cooperative for 17 years and director of Plymouth Farmer’s Mutual Insurance for 39 years.

He is survived by four nieces and a nephew. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy, Earl, and Glenn; and a sister, Jennie.
