Carl John Pageler, 75, Craig, died Tuesday (October 7, 1975) at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born June 16, 1900, in Washington township, Plymouth county, a son of John F. and Johanna Johnson Pageler.

His marriage to Elsie Schuette took place July 8, 1925, at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant township, rural Le Mars.

They lived in the Craig area, Plymouth county, until 1956, when they moved to California. He worked for General Motors for nine years, returning to Craig in 1965, and since has been working on the farm.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran church, Craig, with Rev. O. K. Anderson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home, Le Mars.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Darlene) Westergard of Ireton; four sons, Donald of Le Mars, Derold of Omaha, Vernon of Craig, and Stanley of Ireton; 23 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry of Merrill; and two sisters, Mrs. George Tammen of Merrill and Mrs. Henry Tammen of Craig.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Pageler was a member of St. John American Lutheran church in Craig.
