Darwin James Betsworth

Funeral services for Darwin James Betsworth, 21, will be held, Monday, July 14 at 9 a.m. at St James Catholic church with the Rev L J Lavelle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Witgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Born August 12, 1930, in LeMars, Plymouth, Iowa, the some of Jerome and Martha Betsworth(should be Josephine). He lived most of his life in this community except for four and one-half years spent in service. He enlisted in the Marines for a year and a half and served three years in the army in Japan and Koren. He had just returned July 4 from Korea where he spent two months.

Survivors include his mother, Josephine of LeMars, two sisters and five brothers. There are Mrs. P. V. Clover of Arlington, California, Mrs Reynold Bruinsma of Sioux City, Jerome of Westfield, Duane of Leeds, Leo of Norwalk, California, Lowell of Independence, Iowa and Dwight of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerome.

The body will be at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home from Saturday, July 12, after 7 pm until service time.
