July 12, 1943STRUBLE FARMER CALLED BY DEATH
Alex McDougall Dies Following Sickness of Several MonthsAlexander R. McDougall of Struble, passed away Sunday at 2:30 in the Sacred Heart Hospital at LeMars. Death came after a sickness of several months, and was due to perforated ulcers of the stomach and complications.
Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McDougall and was born on September 2, 1896, at Struble. He had reached the age of 46 years and nine months at the time of his death. He was married to Edna Hanstein on October 14, 1920, at Columbus, Ohio.
The family lived on the home place at Struble until last spring at which time they moved to the Eastman farm west of the home place.
Mr. McDougall was a veteran of World War No. 1, and a member of the Eagles Club.
Survivors are his widow, Joan, and Mrs. Nick Hames; brothers, Dr. George McDougall, president of Huron College Huron, S.D.; Judson McDougall of LeMars; sisters, Mrs. Maggie Nanninga of Beresford, S.D.; Mrs. Annie Nanninga, of Seney; Mrs. Florence Delperdang of Pasadena, California; Mrs. Alice Wells of Ireton; and Mrs. Grace Null of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Day.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Church at Craig, with Rev. Voelker officiating. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Nanninga, Russell Null, Marlin McDougall, Charles Wells, Willis Wells, and Edwin Hanstein, all nephews of the deceased.
Interment will be made in the LeMars cemetery with Mauer’s funeral home in charge of arrangements.
