Katherine L. Stream, 19, of Le Mars, died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 from complications of a heart defect at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Katherine Lynn Stream was born March 6, 1990, at Le Mars, the daughter of Ricky and Susan (Scott) Stream. Katherine was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Katherine attended Clark Elementary School and graduated from Le Mars Community High School with the Class of 2008. Following high school, Katherine attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City for the last two years. She had also been employed with Wells' Dairy with the cleaning crew for the past three years.

Katherine was a 15-year member of the Dance Studio in Le Mars.

Katherine has always loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping with family and friends.

At the age of 14, Katherine joined the BSA Venturing Crew and had enjoyed several high adventure camps in Colorado, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Through these experiences, Katherine gained many friends and respect of her fellow scouts.

Family and friends have always been a important to her, from "hanging out" with cousins and friends to watching and attending concerts and UFC competitions.

Survivors include her daughter, Marley Rose Stream; her parents, Ricky and Sue Stream of Le Mars; a brother, Ryan Stream of Le Mars; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Stream of Le Mars; maternal grandparents, Leon and Aurelia Scott of Le Mars; aunts and uncles: Randy Stream of Le Mars, Jane and Bob "Bear" LeClair of Omaha, Neb., Jennifer Scott of Sioux City, Tim and Beth Conley of Le Mars, Jim and Deb Conley of Le Mars, Joel and Lori Conley of Merrill, Sue and Rick Dreckman of Kansas City, Mo., and Tom and Kris Conley of Fort Collins, Colo.; her special cousins, Tiffany Brennan and her husband Leo and Courtney Stream and her fiancé Les Clark all of Le Mars; a special friend, Diego Garcia of Le Mars; many cousins and friends.

Katherine was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lois Scott and paternal grandfather, Harold Stream.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., Le Mars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitations with the family present will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
