Coleman Harrington, a resident of Westfield and Akron vacinities for over a quarter of a century and one of the few remaining veterans of the Civil War in this locality, passed away last Friday morning, September 6th, (1918) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. B. Lilly, at Westfield, Iowa at the advanced age of 85 years and 9 months.

On Friday morning occurred the death of Coleman Harrington at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. B. Lilly near Westfield. He had been ill for several weeks. He was well known in Westfield and vicinity. Mr. Harrington was married twice. Three children were born of the first marriage, one of whom Mrs. Cora Austin survives him. She lives in Washington. His second wife was Miss Emma Amos. Eleven children were born to them, eight of whom are living. They are all residents of Westfield and vicinity. Two sons, Arthur and Vessey, are in service.

The funeral services were held on Saturday at the Congregational church, Rev. Volck, of Akron, officiating and the remains were buried beside his wife in the Westfield cemetery.
