Harry Taylor, 62, of Des Moines, formerly of Sioux City, died of a heart attack Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Mercy Capitol in Des Moines.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 15, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Mr. Taylor was born in Westfield, Iowa, and had lived in the Des Moines area most of his life. He had also lived in Sioux City. He had been a carpet installer with Iowa Carpet One. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Carpet Floor Installers and the American Legion. He had been active with the Boy Scouts and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna; three sons, Douglas of Austin, Minn., David of Des Moines, and Donald at home; three daughters, Lonnie Taylor of Des Moines, DeeAnna Taylor of Fort Hood, Texas, and Lisa Taylor at home; his mother, Edith Taylor of Sioux City; three brothers, Jack of Sergeant Bluff, Darrell of Sioux City, and Tony of Tea, S.D.; and six sisters, Delores Vanderlinden, Darlene Schwebach, Beverly Jolin, Cindy Whitmore and LouAnn Derochie, all of Sioux City, and Donna Bourret of Sioux Falls, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Carroll.
