Edith Taylor, 87, of Sioux City died Sunday, July 11, 2004, in Sioux City.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Logan Park Cemetery, with Jack Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Edith was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Plymouth County, Iowa, to John Skogsberg and Susie (Steesey) Skogsberg. She moved to Lyman County, S.D. as a child, where she attended school. The family moved back to Plymouth County as a teen-ager.

She married Ralph Taylor on June 1, 1935, in Elk Point, S.D. Ralph passed away Oct. 31, 1988, in Sioux City.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, Jack and Karen Taylor of Sergeant Bluff, Darrell and Mary Taylor of Sioux City and Tony and Billie Taylor of Sioux Falls, S.D.; six daughters, Dee and her husband, Kenneth Vanderlinden of Sioux City, Bev and her husband, Don Jolin of Sioux City, Darlene and her husband, Don Schwebach of Sioux City, Donna and her husband, Don Bourret of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lou Ann Taylor and Earl Derochie of North Sioux City, and Cindy and her husband, Junior Whitmore of Sioux City; a sister, Anne Torness of Milbank, S.D.; 27 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and two sons, Carroll and Harry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sioux City Gospel Mission.
