RESIDENT HERE HALF CENTURY

Following an illness of two weeks brought on by infirmities of her age, Mrs. August Binneboese died at her home in LeMars on Wednesday of last week, at the age of 73 years. Mrs. Binneboese, a member of a pioneer family settling in Plymouth County in 1882, had resided in LeMars for the past five years.

Amelia Binneboese was a native of Germany and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Werner. She was born January 5, 1860, at Plainfield, Ill. Shortly after their marriage they came to Plymouth County and obtained land in Lincoln Township.

Mr. Binneboese, assisted by his wife, developed and improved the land, and engaged in farming and stock raising. They became the owners of a fine home composed of 600 acres of good land.

Mr. and Mrs. Binneboese, while residents of Lincoln Township, were always active in the social and religious life of the community and consistent members of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Binneboese will be remembered by many long time associates for kindly acts and neighborly deeds.

The deceased leaves to mourn her death three sons, William A. Binneboese of Sioux City, Albert and John Binneboese, of Lincoln Township, and four daughters, Mrs. Chas. Moser and Mrs. Herman Lang of LeMars, Mrs. Wm. Franzen of Lincoln Township, Mrs. Fred Henry of Elkhorn. There are 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held from the residence at 1:00 Saturday afternoon and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township at 2:00, the pastor, Rev. R.J. Torgler, officiating, and burial was made in the Lincoln Township cemetery.
