JOHN H. AHLFS

John H. Ahlfs, lifetime Plymouth and Sioux counties, passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday following a sickness of several months. He had been hospitalized ten days.

Mr. Ahlfs, a retired farmer resided at 408 2nd Ave. N.W., and was 58 years of age. He was married to Verna Mandlekow. Mrs. Ahlfs passed away six years ago in LeMars.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. L.L. Belk will officiate and burial will be in the LeMars city cemetery under the direction of the Sioux Center Burial Association.

Survivors include a son, Dale, of South Sioux City, Nebraska; a daughter, (Lenyce) Mrs. Arnold Zenk of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna.
