JOHN EDWARDS

John Edwards, 95, a longtime resident of this community, died Friday, Feb. 27, at a nursing home at Marcus, Ia.

Mr. Edwards was born February 9, 1864, at Louisville, Ky. He resided in Illinois before coming to LeMars in 1900. He was an employee of the public utility company when it was the ownership of Knorr and Schafer. He married Margaret Shepherd July 19, 1896, at Greenview, Ill, who preceded him in death.

Survivors are a son, John Jr., of Dallas, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Hammer of LeMars, and Mrs. R.O. Stevens of Denison, Tex.; and one grandchild.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. Rev. Robert Gildner officiated and burial was in the City cemetery.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by three sons, James, George, and Frank Edwards.
