Loretta Mae Roehrich, 75, a lifelong Sioux City resident, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Schoop officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. John Hantla officiating, all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Roehrich was born May 10, 1927, in Sioux City, to George and Anna (Thiel) Wermes. She attended Sioux City schools, graduating from Leeds High School.

She married Henry Roehrich on Aug. 18, 1946, in Sioux City, The couple operated Hank's Tavern in Hinton, Iowa, for many years. She also worked at Goodwill for 13 years and as a cook at Hallmark Care Center for 12 years. Mr. Roehrich died Jan. 3, 1974, in Le Mars, Iowa.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, The Church of All Nations, the Goodwill Auxiliary and Good Neighbor Club in Le Mars.

She is survived by thee sons, Douglas and his wife, Terri, of Sioux City, Henry and his wife, Deb, of Minot, N.D., and Danne of Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter and her husband, Loretta "Diane" and Earl Erpelding of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers, Robert Wermes of Sioux City and Donald Wermes of Florida; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a 7-year old son, Charles.

Pallbearers will be Earl Erpelding, Jim Ferris, Mike Weinrich, Norm Higginbotham, Harry Huggenberger and Merril Muller.
