LLOYD NANNINGA

LE MARS, Iowa—Lloyd “Slick” Nanninga, 87, of LeMars died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist church in LeMars with the Rev. Lynn Potter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Nanninga was born Oct. 30, 1906, in Ireton, the son of Conrad and Anne (McDougall) Nanninga. He married Irene M. Durr May 15, 1940, in Dakota City, Neb. The couple farmed from 1941 to 1969, when they retired and moved to Struble. She died Oct. 30, 1988. He was a lifelong area resident.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Nanninga and his wife Glenda, of Hobbs, N.M., and Bruce Nanninga and his wife, Connie of LeMars; grandchildren, Beth of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Matthew, Katie, and Nicholas, all of LeMars; and two sisters, Helen Mock of Santa Clara, Calif., and Maggie Mae Coppock of Mesa, Ariz.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alex, Howard and Orville; and a sister, Grace Dunn.
