CHARLES SAVAGE DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Charles N. Savage, 72, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nat Savage of this community, died last week Thursday at Marysville, Cal., after an illness of about three months.

Mr. Savage was appointed claim adjuster by Mayor W.D. Hayes at Sioux City in November 1936 and in 1941 he assumed the duties of sanitary officer, and prior to those years had held various positions there where he resided many years. He located in California in 1944.

Mr. Savage was born October 18, 1879, at Cedar Falls, Iowa, and came to Sioux City in 1881. He married Rose Woolworth in 1902.

Survivors include his widow, Rose; two sons and two daughters; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, George Savage, Hinton, Iowa.
