JOHN PETERSEN CALLED BY DEATH

John H. Petersen, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 14, in Sacred Heart hospital at LeMars, where he had been a patient five days.

Mr. Petersen was born December 2, 1881, in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County , Iowa, where he spent his entire life. His parents were Frank and Bertha Petersen, pioneer residents of that community.

Mr. Petersen was widely known and prominent among his many friends. All his life he followed the occupation of farming and livestock raising, and for his efforts acquired one of the better farm homes in this county.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; three sons, Erick, Arthur and Raymond, all within the community of the parental home; four daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Gertrude) Ideker, Hinton, Mrs. Ray (Erma) Ely of Sioux City, Mrs. John (Eva) Crawford, and Mrs. Ralsten (Ethel) Martin, both of Merrill; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

One son, Jack, died in October 1945.
