Darrell W. Gralapp, 78, of Le Mars died Monday, June 7, 1982, at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after an extended illness.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Le mars. Rev. Robert Gralapp, Rev. Francis Staber and Rev. Gralapp’s priest classmates were concelebrants of the Mass. Burial was in the Le Mars City cemetery.

Mr. Gralapp was born July 26, 1903 at Brookings, S.D., the son of Christian and Mary (Long) Gralapp. He came to Le Mars as a child with his parents. He was employed at the American Trust and Savings Bank in Le Mars until 1921. He managed the Remer Fuel Co. in Le Mars for 23 years and in 1955 became an investment banker and was engaged in that occupation until his death.

His marriage to Concordia Fisch took place August 25, 1937, at Le Mars.

He was a member of the Elks Club of Le Mars for over 50 years.

Surviving are his widow, Concordia of Le Mars; two sons, Rev. Robert Gralapp of Sioux City and Allan of Sigourney, Ia.; three grandchildren; one brother, Leslie of Le Mars and two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Lyle) Nolan of El Paso, Tex. And Mrs. Alvin (Mary) Buss of Rockford, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Floyd.

Pallbearers were James Fisch, Dennis, Donald and Evon Gralapp, Ray Melburg and Merle Neisius. The Fisch funeral home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements.
