Graveside memorial services for Mrs. John M. (Marion) Moore, 76, Kalamazoo, Mich., former longtime Le Mars resident, will be held on a date yet to be set at Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Gary Frahm of St. George’s Episcopal Church will officiate.
Mrs. Moore died Saturday (April 9, 1983) at Beverly Manor Care Center Plainwell, Mich., after an illness of eight months. She had resided the last six months at the center.
Marion Frances Harvey was born Feb. 24, 1907, at Fulton, Ill., to William Edward and Elizabeth Dugan Harvey. She came to Le Mars after her marriage June 21, 1931, at Morris, Ill. to John M. Moore. She lived here until 1958 when she moved to Omaha where she lived until 1973 when she was injured in an auto accident. She had lived at Kalamazoo, Mich., since 1974 until going to the care center.
Private services were held at Kalamazoo. The family suggests memorials designated to the Le Mars Arts Council.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Episcopal Church, P.E.O. Sisterhood and a charter member of Le Mars Chapter AO, T.T.T.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, who died in November 1967, and four brothers.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. William S. (Mary) Sturges, Le Mars; two sons, John H. Moore, Kalamazoo, and Rob C. Moore, Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Helen M. Harvey, Plymouth Manor Care Center, Le Mars; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; a niece and nephew.
