Esther Sherman, 91, Le Mars native and lifelong resident, died July 28, 1983 at Happy Siesta Care Center, Remsen, after an illness of several years.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Robert Grupp and Rev. James Ransom will officiate and burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery.

She was born April 12, 1892, in Le Mars to Andrew and Grace Wynia Duus. She worked many years with the Red Cross. She married Ren D. Sherman in Le Mars. He preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1949. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Mrs. Sherman was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ and Eastern Star.

Survivors are seven grandchildren and three nieces.
