Fred A. Luss, who has clerked in the Kehrberg store in Le Mars and its successors for almost a half century, died February 26, in Sacred Heart hospital, where he had been for several weeks suffering from a stomach cancer.

Mr. Luss was born December 3, 1874, in Le Sueur, Minn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Luss, and went to work in the Kehrberg store 49 years ago, continuing with the business as its ownership changed until ill health forced him to go to the hospital. In 1913 he was married to Jeannette Freeman, employed in the same store, who died in 1921.

Mr. Luss is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Persicker, who lives in Saskatchewan, Canada, and three nieces, Mrs. Dora Corbett, Mrs. Louise Iloorneman and Mrs. Bertha McLeod, all of Sioux City.

Funeral services will be at the Mauer funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, with Rev. J. J. Share of the First Methodist church in charge, and Masonic services at the city cemetery.
