Mrs. Mattie Estella Fletcher, 82, died Monday at Sacred Heart hospital after five month’s illness. A former resident of the Adaville vicinity, she is well remembered there for her generous assistance to neighbors at times of illness.

Born September 13, 1872 at Morrison, Ill., she came to Plymouth county in 1904. Mattie Maricle married Charles B. Fletcher at Morrison, July 4, 1891. She moved to Le Mars in 1918, and has resided at 335 1st Ave. NE.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. F.G. Patterson, assisted by Rev. B.H. Reese, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the First Baptist church. Burial will be in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neva McPherson of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Fayetta Norton of Le Mars; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, two sons, Ralph and John, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Spanish was auxiliary and the First Baptist church.
