MRS. ROSE ORBAN
Mrs. Al (Rose) Orban, 78, a Plymouth county native and lifelong LeMars resident, died Friday (Jan. 13, 1978) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.
The former Rose Kamp she was born Feb. 23, 1899, at Struble to the late Joseph and Susan Lewis Kamp.
Her marriage to A.J. Orban took place Jan. 19, 1922, in LeMars. The couple farmed near LeMars and retired in 1944 when they moved to LeMars.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; two daughters, Evelyn Orban and Lois Schnepf; seven brothers, Joseph A., Henry, Nick, John, Roman, Herman and Frank Kamp, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Anna.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, LeMars. Rev. Francis Staber will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke funeral home in LeMars.
Christian Mothers rosary will be at 4 p.m., the parish rosary and wake service at 8 p.m. and the Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 8:30 all Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Orban was a member of the World War II American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Cecil (Loretta) Kennedy, LeMars, and Mrs. Wayne (Mary Jane) Gard, Lakewood, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Kamp, LeMars and Sister M. Vincent, St. Louis, Mo.
